Sweet Seattle...

The least time you have, the more things you want to do... right?

This is exactly what I have been doing... :)

After making so much promises to go back to Seattle, I finally bought the ticket right after I purchased the ticket to go home. I even told my mom after I made the payment. I also got a pretty good deal with the price, so there I was... on Sep 21st arrived in Seattle at 10AM. I did not sleep since the flight was at 6.35AM. I didn't want to take a risk of overslept, therefore, I pushed myself not to sleep.

Arrived in Seattle, Ninoy - My lovely friend picked me up and I already got to eat 2 of my ultimate favorites...
muchiko chicken - hawaian bbq, U district
Pork Belly and Calamary - Hae Nam Kalbi, aurora ave
And we also found that the next dish is even more delish...
Black Cod with special house sauce - Hae Nam Kalbi, Aurora Ave
In Conclusion, first day... mission accomplished :)

Second day - it's my turn to test my memory. Me and my friend would do things separately in the morning and then met up at noon. I needed to take busses and went around to get things done. 1st, I needed to close down my bank of America account, and then sent out one of my luggage to my uncle in California ( you know I can't take all my stuff alone :P)
I was nearly lost... haha took a wrong bus, but other than that, I could say I was pretty success.. I still remembered most of routes and busses' number...
When we met up, we decided to fulfill my long-waited-crave-of-MoLLY MOONS!!! WOOHOOO
Honey Lavender and Theo Chocolate ice cream - Molly Moons, 45th Street
and Dicks Burger for early dinner
Dicks Hamburger - 45th Street
We needed to get an early dinner because chendani needed to go for music practice!!!! I got another chance to play piano at the mass on that coming Sunday!!! :) Yes with Sundays at 7!!! Unfortunately, NOBODY SHOWED UP EXCEPT 2 OTHER SINGERS!!! So there I was as a solo instrument. What a bummer!!!! I missed playing piano with other instruments. Could you imagine how wonderful if there's flute, saxophone, violin, trombone, or just a guitar and drum came along? I missed to feel the joy of playing in a band. Got to hear the drum's beat, the strumming of guitar, and I just play a compliment to solo instrument like saxophone, flute, violin, or trombone... uuurrrggghhh. However, everything happened for a reason...
Also... it just happened again. The magic. When I started marching toward newman's chapel, my heart beat faster... :)

and yes... I felt in peace... :)

Third day!! - Friday...
It wassstarted  pretty slow, I think we had lunch at Sushi Land. One of my to-eat-list...
It's a good place with two reasonable reasons...
1. the price is reasonable...
2. the taste is reasonable with that price... lol...
I honestly changed my mind a little bit... I didn't see it as a "WOW" anymore... but, it's fulfilled...
Sushi Land, Alderwood-Lynwood
After lunch, we headed to H Mart - Korean Market which is located just across the area where sushi land was...
We bought some liquor :P I wanted to taste soju, and it's completed... Conclusion - I am not a fan of any liquor, beer is still my preference...

Waaaayyyy before tasting the soju... we killed time at Alderwood mall which conveniently located across the H-Mart and Sushi Land (could you picture them in ur head?).. Of course, we had Starbucks!! I tried the pumpkin spice latte and yes... it was definitely put on my favorite drink list...

Then, we were in a journey to accomplish another mission - TAPEX (Tapioca Express)... When you think about TAPEX - it's all about BOBA and POP CORN CHICKEN!!!
Tapex (Tapioca Express) - Lynwood

I still had a lot of things to do before concluded the night... I went to Mudika Gathering. Mudika is an Indonesian catholic Youth Group, I was a part of it, so I went there to reminisce..And the night was concluded with Soju, mokali, cards, and other things

Saturday adventure was started with a reunion of 3 Psych Majored Girls!! :)
WE all had different stories of how we met 4 years ago. Me and Nina met at the Mudika Retreat in 2007. Me and Elvina met in Summer 2008. Elvina and Nina met in Fall 2008. We were connected with psychology and Seattle, though, we ended up in different school. Nina in University of Washington, Elvina in Northwest University, and me... in University of Minnesota. Among us, Nina was the first who came to the U.S., and  she will be done with school this Fall. Then, it was me who came next, and I just graduated last May. Elvina came in Summer 2008 and will graduate next year.  Despite the year and places differences, we were all agree that studying psych in the U.S. was not as what we expected before. It was actually a bit off of what we had in mind to start with... Nonetheless... because of the decision we made... we now adapted to the way U.S. conditioned us... What we have learned as psych majors were observing behavior. So keep the questions of "Who am I..." if you meet one of us... We do not have answers or a long list of who you are, but we can explain why you do what you do...
Once, Nina's professor had said... "Psychology is an explanation of why we do what we do..." it's quoted by my psych 101 professor as well..

Anyway... talking about food... we had dimsum and we just paid 6.50 for each person...

The real culinary feast was yet to be happened...
Frozen yogurt was our first dessert, but it didn't stop right there. We headed to Pike Place Market, the famous trademark in Seattle...
We decided without saying a word that each of us would buy dishes and it meant to be shared. Oh first, I need to tell you that Elvina had to leave for a group meeting, but Mr. Antonius Rusli came and join... :)
Nina went to her favorite place in the corner of the market... Fried Gizzard... I was going to go for a piroshky, but then my eyes caught a catchy sign - KIMCHEE WRAP

BimBimBap - Pork Bulgogi - Wrapped in Warm Tortilla...

Happiness ;)
Anton decided to go with me and got calamari...
Eating and watching merchants shouted and threw some Salmons were a feast of eye and stomach hahahaha... We just contented

When we were heading anywhere ( we hadn't decided yet), our eyes caught some sign again...

Anton was just excited and ordered Matsuri Dog - which was GOOOD!!!

Ahhh full full full...
happy happy happy...

Pike Place Market was incomplete without posing in front of the GUM WALL

And yet.. we asked for more... in the end, we ended up in a cool cafe with a frozen yogurt for Nina, a house coffee for Anton, and a large bubble tea for myself... oooo Seattle....

Sunday...
We had lunch altogether with Mudikans at Chiang's Gourment - a Sechuanese food... hmmm a bit dissappointing, it didn't taste as good as I used to remember... However, we acted like a model in Gas Work Park!

The night was just added by a sequence of meeting-old-friends-unexpectedly!!! I totally could not think that they would come to mass. haha. All I cared was watching Lan's code to start off the song and how she counted off the beat. But then, I met Ivana and Richie - my friends in mudika. First few people that I encountered when I first arrived in Seattle... They just got married last summer :)
Then... more people showed up!!! Either from Mudika and Sundays at 7!!!
In the end I met with Wina and Henry - FIRST people who helped me a lot when I arrived in Seattle...
I met ko Mars and Ci Yusi with the kids - they are just like my older brother and sister :), I met them trough Sundays at 7, I still remember what first line he said to me - "your name is Chendani, so you must be Indonesian khan?" hahahahahhaa
I met Tony and Bea who also got married last Summer... and ANDY - may I add - the sexy saxist :P !!! WOOOHOOO HAHAHAH Of course I met Irene too before the 5PM mass.. aaaahhhh even though I didn't get a chance to meet other people whom I really really wanted to meeeeet... but met these people really gave a warmth in my heart... again... unexpected is excessively good... :)

Dinner - Hot meat sauce over rice - Ocean City China town - mission accomplished...

Monday! Last day to go...
We went back to downtown Seattle - for Pike Place Market second round feast...
Crepes and Piroshky! Accomplished :)
Then, we finally went to experience the real SECHUANESE CUISINIE :)
Beef Sechuan and Hot Pepper Fried Chicken, and what made it even special was the ride. A red hot truck with 4 passengers... hahahaha... Anton on the driver seat, Nina in between the driver and passenger seat, her one leg was in the driver's and one is in passenger's (you sure could picture it in your head), me with Fani on my lap!!! hahahahahahaha...
We were just giggled around until a police's car passed by... Anton was saying calmly but with a little bit worry... "Diem... ada polisi lewat..." (translate: be quiet, there's a police)... We literally shut down and held breath, even Fani tried to "cover" me up!!!
oh my ... it's just hillarious... we couldn't help but burst into laughter after the 'situation' was declared safe...

what a night...

and we were still on for dessert... and karaoke...

I recommended you to go to Dilettante cafe... a nirvana for desserts lover...

Fruit Crisp with Salted Caramel ice cream... and Mocha silk were enough to make Nina in silence for a moment, tried to precisely taste the warm drizzling of blueberry melted in her mouth and freeze from the salted caramel ice cream.. or the bitterness yet silky mocha and chocolate flavor...

In the end... Seattle is Sweet... In spite of the bitterness that I've had in the past, seattle left me a sweet memory... The Sweetest thing... I re-connect with Nina... my first ever bestie in Seattle... What a good surprise that after a year and a half we were apart... we did grow a deeper understanding and felt like we clicked the right button...

It's always hard to say good bye... but if we meant to be friends we lasted forever...
it's all about faith ...

:)

Thank you Seattle... You treated me well...
